Bookings can be made through our simple and easy system found on the availability calendar or by telephone or email. Just add any codes or extra requirements (ie pets, travel cot, highchair) in the spaces provided, or when you contact us.

A 25% deposit will be payable on booking, via bank transfer/pay pal in order to secure the dates. The balance will be payable in full, six weeks before the holiday date.  If the booking is made less than six weeks before the start of the holiday the full rental charges will become due at the time of booking.

If the remaining payment is not received by the due date, the booking may be cancelled and the deposit retained.

Damage Deposit

A £200.00 damage/security deposit will be taken with each booking.  Serious damage to any part of the property, furniture or contents, damage to floors and doors including loss or breakage will be chargeable, by accepting these terms you also agree that in the event of damage we reserve the right to be able to charge for damage occured. The guest also agrees to reimburse the owner for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs where required over and above the normal expected usage.  The damage deposit will be payable with the balance of the booking and refunded via bank transfer within 48 hours of your departure.


Two well-behaved dogs are welcome and are charged at £15 for the first dog, and £10 extra for the second. They must not however, be permitted on the furniture and not allowed upstairs. Charges will apply for additional cleaning of carpets, damage to wooden floors & doors or any other damage to furniture caused by pets as stated above. Failure to reimburse Far House by the guest will lead to the deposit being nonrefundable in any of the above instances to cover any of the above instances.

Dogs are not allowed upstairs or to be allowed on any of the furniture downstairs.  Dogs are not to left in the house unattended and free to roam, there is use of the kennel if required.

General damages

Far House understands there will be accidents along the way with breakages and the like, we just ask you to inform us so we can replace items for the next guests.


Notification of cancellation should be made as soon as possible to avoid incurring extra charges. Notices should be made in writing via email or through our booking system.

In the event of cancellation six weeks prior to the arrival date the deposit will be retained in full and the booking cancelled with no further monies due to Far House Ltd.

If the cancellation takes place less than six weeks before the date of arrival, the guest is liable to incur the full cost of the holiday all monies become payable to Far House Ltd immediately, if the property is successfully re-let, a 50% refund will be applicable to the guest. It is advisable to take out separate holiday insurance cover to safeguard against unforeseen events.

In the event of a cancellation of your stay by us, we will refund monies as stated above, however, that will be the extent of our liability.

Should you need to change your holiday dates, please advise us in writing immediately and review the booking calendar to see what alternative dates are suitable. Where revised dates selected are of a higher rental price, these will become due on payment of the balance.  Your existing booking will be transferred to a new booking at the new period rates.  Your existing booking will be released back to our booking system as available.  If the date changes are made less than six weeks prior to arrival of your existing booking dates 25% of the rental period of your existing booking (at the time of booking) will still become due and the value will be added to your new booking.  Where this increases your deposit value, payment is to be made immediately, with the remainder becoming due six weeks prior to your revised holiday dates.  Should,  once changed, you then at a later date cancel this booking, the deposit value taken at the original booking stage, plus any increases, will be retained.  This also applies where the original booking holiday value was greater than the revised booking dates.


We are not in a position to enforce any travel restrictions across the UK and we must remain complaint with government advise; however we are strongly advising customers against travel until the end of April.
  • These customers will be eligible to amend their holiday dates with no amendment fee. Customers are advised to contact their travel insurer should they wish to cancel.
  • Seasonal price differences will be charged.

Other Terms: Staying at Far House

The number of persons stated at the time of booking must match the number of guests that stay at Far House. Additional people may be accommodated, dependent on party size, but we require prior notification in writing of extra occupants. Far House will advise if the revised number of occupants is acceptable.

Far House will be available from 4.00pm and guests are expected to vacate by 10.00am on your day of departure, unless special arrangements have been made with us.

Far House should be kept clean and tidy and vacated in good condition with no damage.

You will be provided with two sets of keys during your stay; all locks are suited at the property and open all doors. In the event that any keys are mislaid there will be a £5 charge per key.

As there are sheep and horses in our surrounding fields, dogs should be kept under control at all times and the gate to be closed at all times.

Children are the sole responsibility of their parents/guardians whilst staying at Far House, particular care/supervision should be taken around the low-level windows at ground and first floor, and when children are in the fields and around any animals.

The supervision of babies and children are the responsibility of the guest and the owner of Far House will take no liability in the event of accident or injury/damage.

All furniture and contents are the property of Far House. Their use is included within the rental, however all items must be left at Far House during your stay and on departure or we reserve the right to charge for any missing items.

The guest (the person named on the booking) will be responsible for all those staying at Far House.

We operate a no smoking policy at Far House.

Consideration must be shown for others when staying at Far House. The owner or their representative reserves the right to terminate a rental without compensation in the event of unreasonable and undue noise that is causing a disturbance to other properties in the area.
