Far House is a renovated 1800s farmhouse set in a rural location beneath The Roaches in the heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands and the Peak District National Park.

Far House is a relaxing, light and spacious property providing luxury 4 star self-catering accommodation for 12 people over 5 bedrooms.

One of the focal points of the house is the kitchen, which extends to a large glazed social area. With a fully working AGA at its heart, it’s is a great place for groups to gather, or for some quiet chill-out time. Throw open the doors on to the paved patio area to soak up those balmy summer days and nights, or make full use of the open fires and underfloor heating throughout the ground floor for a lovely homely feel throughout the winter months. Either way, you’ll be appreciating the peace and quiet of the surroundings and outstanding views over Tittesworth Reservoir and The Roaches.

This is the original part of the farmhouse and has some amazing features that we’ve managed to recondition within a modern expansive kitchen. The old stone window mullions and stone archway through to the dining room remain and the oil burning AGA is in full working order, providing a warm homely feel throughout the house, especially in the colder months. There is also a gas stove and electric oven. The kitchen units form a breakfast bar seating 3 along with additional dining table and chairs to seat 6 people. A cosy sofa and window seat provide a great social space.  This open plan area extends into a fully-glazed seating area, with double doors onto the rear of the property. This area gets the sun all day long and has some amazing views over the neighbouring fields and hills.

The whole of the open plan area has ceramic flooring with underfloor heating extending through to the dining room, utility room and downstairs toilet. The utility room has additional storage space and refrigeration, along with a washing machine and double sink drainer.

An oak staircase leads from the back of the kitchen to the upstairs.


This large modern living room has ample seating, a wood burner, oak floors and underfloor heating. Fitted with TV, DVD and JBL sound system, and with a beautiful outlook over Tittesworth Reservoir and the surrounding countryside, it is a perfect place to relax.


To the rear of the living room there is a separate theatre room with a 55″ TV linked to a DVD player and games console with added surround sound – a perfect TV getaway if others wish to relax and unwind in the living room.


Leading directly off the kitchen, this large and more formal dining area embraces the original features of the farmhouse. The extendable oak dining table seats 12 people comfortably and there is plentiful storage space within the farmhouse-style units.

This large bedroom with a king size bed and two single beds is deal for a spacious family room, sleeping four.  Each bed has a bed side cabinet and reading lamp.  


Solid oak wardrobe hanging space and generous drawer storage space.  There is also a 42″ TV in this room.  


Low level windows provide a fantastic view over the reservoir and velux windows all fitted with black out blinds.  There are extendable poles for operation of the higher level windows and blinds. 


An extension to the bedroom provides a large en-suite with roll top bath, separate walk in shower, toilet, bidet and sink unit along with heated towel rail.



This room is one of the original farmhouse bed rooms and still retains the original exposed roof beams.  This twin room has two adult size single beds with a bed side cabinet, reading light, hanging rails and drawer space.

Windows to each side provide views toward The Roaches and across the neighbouring hills.  Velux sky lights are fitted with black out blinds and poles for operation of the windows and blinds. 



This light and airy double bedroom overlooks the Leekfirth Valley. Furnished with bedside cabinet, reading lamp, hanging rails and drawer storage.



This large double room with a king size antique sled bed is the original master bedroom, bed side cabinets and reading lights, along with antique hanging and drawer space.  


This bedroom has kept its originality with its reconditioned exposed beams, high ceiling and low level windows providing amazing views across Tittesworth Reservoir.  Large Velux windows with black out blinds along with pole operation.



The smallest of the bedrooms in the house, yet has a double bed and bed side cabinet, reading light, hanging rails and storage.  This has all the room you need especially when you see the view out of the window out onto the Roaches and Hen Cloud rock formations.


The main bathroom in the house has an extremely light and airy feel to it, with two large skylights, a luxurious roll top bath, a toilet and bidet, a separate shower and a sink.


Sat on 11 acres of private land, Far House provides breathtaking and uninterrupted views of The Roaches, Tittesworth Reservoir and the Cheshire hills, ensuring a peaceful, scenic and relaxing stay.

The kitchen and living room both provide access via double-glazed doors onto a Yorkstone paved seating area, complete with garden dining furniture, and BBQ if you require it.

There is private parking for 8-10 cars along with dry storage for any bikes or outdoor equipment with the surrounding fields allowing children and pets plenty of space to play and explore.

There is an outdoor dog kennel with bedding, electric heating and lighting for guests with their outdoor dogs.

As the house is situated directly below The Roaches there is immediate access to public footpaths and bridleways allowing endless options for exploring the Staffordshire Moorlands and surrounding areas.

Popular with walkers, climbers, cyclists and horse treks the continual links between the Moorlands and the Peak District National Park provide endless days of exploring and adventure.

Housed within 11 acres of private land this peaceful setting is a great place for kids to explore and pets to have free run of the fields, with fully secured boundaries.On the doorstep of The Roaches, there are a multitude of activities to enjoy, from gentle strolls to a multitude of breathtaking hikes, great rock climbing, mountain biking and road cycling.Far House looks down over Tittesworth Reservoir, which offers a wide range of activities for outdoor enthusiasts. Take a steady walk around the water’s edge, make use of the dedicated BBQ areas or keep the children happy in the popular outdoor play area. You can eat in the café overlooking the water or take on something a little more challenging at the Tittesworth Water Sports and Activity Centre.The village pub, only a mile from Far House, serves traditional ales and home-cooked food, or try The Lazy Trout in Meerbrook, just over the fields or a short drive away.
